Cuckoo / ЗозуляCollection: 2024. Fifteen Puzzle As a child, I loved listening to the cuckoo’s call in the countryside, unaware of the unsettling truth behind its beautiful song. The cuckoo lays its eggs in the nests of other birds, leaving them to raise its young. In this contemporary symbolic portrait, a necklace of fragile, multicolored eggs represents life, displaced motherhood, vulnerability, and alienation. Combining figurative art, bird symbolism, and narrative surrealism, the painting moves between innocence and predation, belonging and estrangement, trust and deception—revealing the disturbing reality that beauty can conceal. |
